CMC Attends Hill Briefing on Derivatives

CMC recently attended a briefing of the House Agriculture Committee Republican staff by the Coalition for Derivatives End-Users, a group that CMC partners with on many topics related to Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act. The Coalition briefed House staff and several lobbyists on the timeline and sequencing of CFTC rules, margin and capital requirements, the extraterritorial nature of the CFTC’s derivatives rules, affiliate transactions, and the lack of a robust cost-benefit analysis in the CFTC’s rulemaking. The Coalition reiterated its support for the Stivers-Fudge affiliate transactions bill, the Conaway et al bill on cost-benefit analysis and the Grimm-Peters margin bill.
