CMC Speaks to Corn Congress

The National Corn Growers’ Association rallied their Action Teams in DC this week and asked CMC to participate.  Christine Cochran represented the Council and led a dynamic conversation on issues like the swap dealer definition, what constitutes bona fide hedging, and the CBOT corn daily price limits proposal.  Interests piqued over the possibility that the bona fide hedge definition may limit the ability for producers to forward contract.  While the farm bill remains among the top of the producers’ priority list, they are keeping their eye on DFA and appreciate dialoguing with the Council.  The Corn Congress will head to the Hill later this week.
